Drags and Gymkhana TT 2017

Drags and Gymkhana 2017 hosted by Club TT Motorsports In conjunction with TARDA, The county of Machakos and associated partners, is an annual time trial event and car festival for the motor sport enthusiast who wants to enjoy their car in a closed and safe environment and also spectate in the same. Each vehicle will be put in a specific class and allowed a timed run on the gymkhana track and the drag strip. The timings will be displayed and the winners are given a certificate as token of appreciation. All participants will have to abide with the rules and regulations provided by the organizers for safety and security issues. The event will be a 2 day Camping event. . The first day will feature an exhilarating Saturday of quick response timed gymkhana. Sunday will proceed with Super Extreme Drags matching up the best in tarmac street cars pegged against each other and the clock, in the ultimate battle of tuners driver skill and hardware. A speed festival will feature various classic cars, street modified cars, rally cars, exotic cars , etc ! Advance tickets will be sold online and the date will be announced in due time.. There will be free entry for children under 12 years of age. Car lovers will be entertained watching the drivers push their machines to the limit and thereafter join them at the common village area for the car festival and later the prize giving ceremony. The village will also have music for your entertainment till dusk, clothes stands and food stands, automotive part stands etc. Spectators will also relish in the opportunity to have a one on one with the drivers about their cars various industry players and automotive experts and classic car restores. Due to nature of the event locale spectators are requested to bear with us on the limited accommodation vacancies and prepare in advance, that may require individual arrangements e.g camping overnight and RV or independent accomodation. Literature Forum: October

This is a forum for upcoming women writers and literary critics to share and discuss stories, poems and current literature trends with the aim of enhancing their creativity. The forum provides a space to listen to the voices of established and budding female writers – voices of women with a passion for literary adventure. It gives all women, heard and unheard, a chance to travel the world into their innermost thoughts to tell stories they have never had a chance to tell before. AMKA and the Goethe-Institut organize the monthly readings in the library of the Goethe-Institut every last Saturday of the month. Participation in the forum is open to both men and women. They were the first runners up in TUSKER PROJECT FAME 6, which is an East African musical competition involving 6 countries and a viewership of over 10 million people.Their performances always left the crowds on their feet and looking forward to their next. Being the first group to ever feature in the competition and reach the finals, with the song "Deadly" by Nameless, they managed to break the so called “Nameless Curse” that had haunted the contestants of the past five seasons. After that they were since called the dynamic duo. With their electrifying performances there was anticipation on in the music scene. And following their exit from the show their journey began with a performance at State House for His Excellency The President of The Republic of Kenya and and other heads of state, and soon after they performed at the Kenya @ 50 Celebration Concert. Artistic Encounters

Artistic Encounters brings together the work of two different artists in one space and at the same time. The artists that will be part of Artistic Encounters will bring their individual art to the stage while speaking to that of the artist they are working with to create a new work. The fourth edition will feature Angela Makholwa Moabelo and Patricia Kihoro. Angela Makholwa Moabelo is a South African author who started her career as a journalist. In 2007 her first novel ‘Red Ink’ was published and was the first South African crime thriller with an African female protagonist. Angela has gained critical and popular acclaim as crime and women’s fiction writer for her contribution to African literature and has been nominated for several literary awards. Patricia Kihoro is a singer, actress, radio presenter, improv comedian and sporadic blogger from Nairobi, Kenya. She loves coffee, laughter, books, photography, African music, Kitenge fabric, her phone and smugly cruising past frustrated motorists stuck in traffic, while on her scooter. Kaya Collective is an international group of Nairobi based musicians who play a fusion of afro-funk, soul, hip-hop, rock n roll, reggae and jazz. Taking influence from multiple continents they combine percussion, brass and vocals to create a truly unique sound and live experience. Bass: Mbaluka a master of Kenyan funk and boogie, yet diverse enough to move the band in every direction. Lead guitar: Charif Megarbane, Lebanese multi-instrumentalist and producer of over 60 albums under 4 aliases, his creative flow and afro melodies provide the band with much inspiration. Rhythm guitar/drums/bass: Fouad Juez another Lebanese multi-instrumentalist, he is the rock of the band, offering expertise in many areas and heavy disco bass lines!
